I was grinning through the whole movie. Oh, not because its a comedy; but because it showed all those primative little instincts we struggle to control - Feeding, Fucking, Fighting, and Fleeing. It showed how easy it is for odd connections to be made in the brain. Synapses firing and holy shit, look what's lit up. Men who were controlled little boys, turning that control back upon women. Heros who have a villan locked inside, raging to take over. Villans who are the heros of their victims. Victims who finally find peace in a place and a person that welcomes their affliction, and escalates it for the entertainment of those that like to watch it all fall apart. Whats not to love about this movie?Thats the essence of what it contains. The specific alchemy equation is this: Psychopath operates a website that appears to cater to the men that are sexually attracted to fat women - REALLY FAT WOMEN. Sex crimes unit detective comes across the site and has a hunch that something more, something worse, is going on. He also has issues with violence and control in his own sexual relationships. He wants to be good, but he can't get away from being bad. He uses the internet and some basic trespassing and manages to find the psychopath who's best line was "Consumption is evolution, and those that don't eat will be eaten by the rest." And wow - he takes it to heart. Then there's dear Deidre the 602 pound woman who makes the words "Feed me" into a siren's call for the beautifully tattoed madman as he feeds her bags and bags of greasy food and masturbates while she eats from his hand. She loves him. She is at peace with him. Such a willing victim.Anyway, it has a surprise ending.I will never EVER be able to hear the song "Cherish" without a twisted grin, since it was the justification theme song for all that villan did. I heard it playing in the grocery store tonight and I wasn't thinking hugs and kisses. I was thinking of the evolution of consumption. Eat or be eaten. I'm sure the damage can be undone. Its just that mayhem is so much fun.
